Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of parents¡¯ role satisfaction, teachers¡¯ job satisfaction, and teacher-child relationship on children¡¯s adaptation to child-care centers. The data of this study were collected from 238 children, 238 parents, and 45 teachers (45 classes). The data were analyzed by structural equation modeling. Fitness of the structural model is excellent and the result of the study shows that parents¡¯ role satisfaction and teachers¡¯ job satisfaction had a significant influence on the children¡¯s adaptation to child-care centers mediated by teacher-child relationship. The parents¡¯ role satisfaction had more impacted on children¡¯s adaptation to child-care centers than the teachers¡¯ job satisfaction even when the teacher-child relationship was mediated. This implies that it is important that parents are satisfied with their role in the parent-child relationship. The teacher-child relationship also had a significantly direct influence on the children¡¯s adaptation to child-care centers.
